It is the end of January but it has been quite an eventful month of floorball so far. We start with…
We decided to continue with a second year of TGIFloorball. TGIFloorball is our way of sharing the sport we love by reaching out to people who has never tried floorball.
Our first year was definitely challenging. Amassing floorball sticks for newcomers to use, manpower to be present every Friday to manage the games, and logistics like washing bibs was a scheduling headache for the team.
But, it paid off. Our team met many new people along the way like Hafiz and Herry who were so supportive from the beginning.
One of the girls, E, who joined the TGIFloorball sessions, enjoyed playing so much that she is now a part of our regular KBFF Orcas playing in the Singapore Floorball League.
This year, our TGIFloorball for Kids course for small people aged 5 to 12 years old also include kids from Beyond Social Services, an established charity dedicated to helping kids from less privileged backgrounds.
Friday nights are precious family time for our team and coaches, of course, but the kids’ enthusiasm and eagerness to learn make it worthwhile. Equally, a recreational player making the leap to a passionate, fulltime, now-will-get-grilled-by-the-coach floorballer is a testament to the strength of this scheme which we continue this year.
